Dazzling Dotted Mugs

I'm sure that you've eyed the classic Pinterest "Dotted Mug" before. Well, here is what you need to create the cool dotted mug of your dreams.

First things first, purchase Sharpie Oil Based Paint Markers, found at your local craft store (Or Walmart). These are useful in many ways, and are the only way your "Sharpie Mug" will work. Regular sharpies on these mugs are a PINTEREST FAIL.
Now, go to Walmart or a Dollar Store and pick out the mug you want to use. These mugs can be pretty tricky to find these days, so good luck.
It's time to print out your letter. I used my Cricut. The letter ended up being 2 1/2. If you don't have a Cricut, you can use a sticker or you can print it off online.
Make sure to wash off your mug before you start writing on the mug. This allows the Oil based Sharpie to write easier, and in the long run, allows it to stay on better. There might be oils and dirt that cause problems when decorating.
Tape your letter or attach it somehow to the mug so that it is in the center. Pick out your color scheme that you will use on your mug.
Trace your letter using dots. Make them very close together so that the letter is obvious. Now, dot around your letter and just a little bit past the letter so that the dots are very compacted.
Make another ring around the letter of dots that are spread out a little bit. The last ring of your dots should be very spread out. Remove your letter.
Feel free to touch up any areas of your letter. If there are any dots that you don't like, use nail polish remover to remove the Marker. This trick works for all of your mug projects.
Time to bake your mug! For baking instructions, go to Elephant Mug.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cute Chevron Candy Container

Not only can you make mugs with your Sharpie Oil Based Paint Markers, you can also make interesting dishes and plates as well. Here is all you need to make this cool creation for dips, candy, and other foods.
Go to a dollar store (or any store) and find a white candy dish like this:
First, wash off your dish so that the sharpie can write easily. Use a silver Sharpie oil based paint marker (or any color of your choice) and draw lines whenever their is an indent. Now alternate the directions of diagonal stripes for each section created by the stripes. This should create the desired chevron effect.
Now that you have completed the design on your dish, you can bake the dish. For baking instructions, refer to Elephant Mug. Now that your dish is all baked, you can enjoy your wonderful creation!

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!

Elephant Mug

Have you been eyeing those easy Pinterest sharpie mugs? Just add regular sharpie and bake dollar store mugs, right? Well, that DOES NOT work. Here is the TRUTH, along with a fun elephant mug idea for you to make.
First, buy OIL BASED Sharpie paint markers. They look like this, and can be found at your local craft store.
Also, buy a white mug found at dollar stores. This particular mug I got at Walmart. It can be hard to find these mugs since they are so popular.
Wash off your mug before starting your project. This way, the sharpie will write easier.
Cut out an elephant outline like this and attach it to your mug (use double sided tape)

Now, use a black oil based sharpie paint marker and trace your elephant. Remove your elephant template.

Decorate your elephant! I used polka dots, but the fun design is up to you!!!!! Be creative!!!!!!!

HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART THAT PINTEREST ALWAYS GETS WRONG:
Bake your mug in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. When the 20 minutes is up, let your mug cool down with the oven. The colors won't change, and your design won't wear off easily. I recommend hand washing your mug just in case.

These instructions work for all kinds of crafty creations, including white plates and dishware! This blog will have a bunch of ideas for you.

ENJOY YOUR WONDERFUL ELEPHANT MUG!!!!!!
